Testing is all about breaking software, causing as many errors and crashes as possible as well as always trying the unexpected behavior from the developer’s point of view. The main focus is not coding, so you don't have to be a programming guru to advance as a software tester. However, if you still enjoy it on occasion, you can always specialize in test automation or scripting. Being familiar with testing tools or terminology (e.g. black-box and white-box testing) is a great start, but logical and detail-oriented approach are more important for an aspiring tester and exactly what we are looking for.
